The MRT 104 uses the 3rd Generation Intel Core i7-3517UE dual core CPU. The computer also delivers 8GB of ECC RAM in the base configuration which can be upgraded to 16GB. This high performance computer readily enables multiple applications to operate simultaneously. This minimizes the number of computers and displays required on a given platform and makes significant contribution to SWAP considerations.
A bonded display adds ruggedness and high brightness which includes a resistive touch screen and tethered stylus as the man-machine interface. The MRT 104 incorporates two high capacity, hot-swappable batteries specifically designed by DRS to operate under extreme conditions.
The DRS MRT 104 solution provides external interfaces to accommodate future sensors, communications equipment and other platform peripherals. As a platform computer, the MRT 104 provides an array of I/O for an extensive suite of current and future peripheral devices on the platform. To accommodate future demands, we designed MRT 104 with multiple Ethernet, USB, RS-422/423 and RS-232 serial interfaces and made this combination of operational flexibility readily available on the tablet and dock. The interfaces enable communications with a variety of RF radios, on-board sensors, and other devices.
To support dismounted operations, the MRT 104 automatically switches to internal battery power without operational interruption and automatically dims its LCD backlight to one half of nominal brightness. The MRT 104 can be quickly detached from the dock or mounting plate with no interruption in operations for use in and around the vehicle.
