The system is based on an air-pallet sized container (within 463L dimensions) which can also be trailer mounted or shipped in ISO containers (4 systems fit in a 40ft ISO container). The system is housed in a robust custom-built steel container with maintenance access hatches for all major components. A single control panel behind an access door at the side of the container containers all controls to commission the system once deployed at a new location – and this commissioning can be completed in less than 2 minutes!
A temperature management system with variable-speed force ventilation ensures that the internal components are maintained at appropriate operating temperatures. Air intakes with filters ensure that sand, dust and insects are kept out of the internal machinery.
The system is easily forklifted or handled via crane using the lifting rings. Bi-directional fork pockets are helpful for certain loading operations – e.g. loading lengthwise into ISO containers.
The horizontal slot is the exit point for the rollable array. An array up to 50m long x 2.4m wide can be deployed from this small container! A guide system ensures the correct vertical and horizontal alignment of the array through this slot during deployment and spooling. A towbar attachment is provided to deploy the array via vehicle tow. The integrated high-torque gearmotor spools the array back up in 3-4 minutes.
The access hatches in the base of the container provide access to the battery compartment. Up to 53kWh (nominal capacity) of Lithium batteries can be housed in this compartment in a quick-racking system which enables the batteries to be quickly removed if needed. This feature provides better flexibility for compliance with hazardous goods shipping requirements – especially for air freight purposes. The batteries can be reinstalled in approximately 30 minutes.
